Gentlemen, Start Your Engines!

Gentlemen, Start Your Engines! I found this company that I happen to like and I have been following it for a few days now ... and it has shot up about 10 % since I have been watchingit. It is called Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide, Inc. and it is a hot stock. It has two sides to their business, on one side is alternative fuel vehicles and fuel cell applications. The other side is their high-performance vehicles. For their alternative fuel vehicles, they do business with GM, Daimler-Chrysler and with their high-performance vehicles they only deal with GM or special projects from a professional race cardriver. This company was a spin off of a company called IMPCO. Since then, they have had an alliance with GM and have done special projects(approximately 4 million annually) for them and in return they can access GM proprietary information. Also GM owns about 20% of the company's stock. I believe that with the alliance with a powerhouse like GM, this company is positioned to come out on top in the search of alternative fuel and to take the world to the next level in new energy resources, especially with oil prices going so high. I believe that the stock can go higher from its current levels of $4.55.

Yahoo!

Yahoo! is a great company with great revenue streams and has relatively no debt. It has a great brand name and the online advertising industry is not going away, it is only growing. According to Merrill Lynch, Yahoo!'s shareholders "over-reacted to last weeks tightened guidance," which I believe is accurate. Yahoo has a strong upside and great growth potential, and is positioned to do well in the coming year.

One by One-Teva Your up next, Swing for the Fences!

One-by-one, my stock pick(s) will begin to come to fruition. With my stock pick of Ebay up over 14% (after hours) since my selection of it, people should think to themselves...Hmm...Does this 18-year-old investor actually know what he is talking about? If, you still think I am not worthy of your money or time, here is my next stock pick of the week! Which stock could it possibly be? TEVA is the chosen one! This Israeli high-powered generic firm has annual revenue of over five-billion dollars. They also have developed a drug that is the leader in its field for MS called Copaxone. They have had sales in the second quarter of $291 million, up 29% a year ago. Besides for this, they currently are trying to develop a drug for Parkinson's disease and an oral treatment for MS. They also have a ton of generic drugs developed and sold in the U.S and have a strong pipeline of approximately 80 drugs that are set to be filed for FDA approval by 2007, according to an article read on Forbes.com, gearing them for the coming future. My price target is $41, from the current level of $30.97.

Let The Stock Picking Begin

I have already told you that the main purpose for me creating this blog was so that I could pick 1-3 stocks per week and track them over a 1 month, 3 month and 6 month period. So, now is the time that I shall start the stock picking! My first stock pick of the week is Ebay. One might question, why Ebay? Then one might say Ebay? That stock has been a bear for about almost a year now. Well, the reasons I like Ebay are as follows, one its brand name. When a company has a brand name like Kleenex or Tivo or Ebay, that means they are the dominant player in their field. Alright, so besides the brand name I expect earnings tomorrow to be in line with estimates, of 0.18 cents per share. Another major reason I like this stock is because it is growing and tapping into major foreign markets. Their stock is off about 40% since its high back in January of 05', which makes it more appealing to me and it has NO DEBT! Anyways, the stock can and should go higher from these levels of $35.36. My price target is 43.

Tired of Red

Im really sick and tired of these days of redness by the markets. The markets continue to underperform but, we did hear good news from IBM after the bell, so that was kind of encouraging for the markets to rally Tomorrow. IBM shares were up about 3 1/2 after hours. Anyways, moving along, a company I follow and own shares in called, ELAN Corporation, reported good data on their controversial drug treatment called Tysabri. I own shares on a speculative basis and hope their treatment of Tysabri for MS and Crohns will return back to the market by the end of this summer. Anyways, it's late and I'm really tired, I will update this when I get up tomorrow. :-)

Stock Market opens in 6 hours

Nothing really exciting this week, except I am looking forward to hearing about earnings from various different companies such as, IBM, Citigroup, Ford, GM, JNJ and of course Intel and Microsoft. But, we need them to give us good news if we have any hope of the markets rising this week. Investors might be on a selloff due to the anticipation of the Fed meeting coming up in about 3 weeks. KEY NOTES: GOOGLE reports on Thursday and expect EBAY to go higher this week after it reports earnings on Wednesday. Anyways its really late and i gotta be up early tommorow morning for the markets...but, this should be a fun week played mostly by earnings. I'll get my stock picks in before the end of the week, still doing some research on some companies...alrighty off to bed ...let the new week of investing begin!!!

Choppy Day in the Stock Market

Today is one of those days where 1. Its beautiful outside but, yet you don't step outside because you are trying to figure out what is wrong with the Stock Market. 2. There is no #2 Anyways, Choppy Markets...but at 12:15 we got a report out that said that June Industrial Production grew at its fastest rate in 16 months dating back to Feb 2004. So of course the markets jump up a few points, on that good Data. Also good news today...The EU, or the European Union antitrust regulators approved the Purchase of Gillette by Procter & Gamble. They are now the biggest consumer products company. And it is the LARGEST aquisition in P&G 167 year old history...Now almost everthing you find in your house will be from P&G ...from the duracell battery, or the shavers and o yea! lets not forget TIDE or Crest Toothpaste ....anyways, as we come to a close of the market on this Friday...Remember one thing GOOGLE better report fantastic numbers or else its stock will be beaten down...and beaten down hard!
