Not Stunned Yet?

Going back over a few companies I have looked into in my past and I found one that looks like its getting its act together. Frankly, I'm "stunned". But seriously Taser(TASR), the maker of the contreversial stun gun looks like it has turned its game plan around. Revenues up 36%, it looks like it has gained the trust back from its customers. According to the Company, its new product launch of the Taser Cam will boost more sales, this product allows to to look through a camera to see what you are shooting at, sort of like the "reverse camera" in the back of new model cars. The Company is cleaning up its balance sheet and I think it will "stun" everyone with a blowout year. Current Price: $10.50 Price Target: $17

Energy!

I found a great little company Vaalco Energy(EGY) that has increased its revenues from $56 million to $84 million in 1 year. For the most part because crude oil increased on average about $14 dollars a barrel. But it's production has also become more effecient and has on reserve 5.3 million barrels as of the end year 2005 compared to 4.7 million barrels on reserve at the end of 2004. Its cash on hand is about $44 million which is a ton of cash for this tiny AMEX company. Watch this company to pump out money to its shareholders in 2006. Recent Price:$7.03 Price Target: $12

Diaper Change?

Recently BabyUniverse(POSH) had a diaper change. It changed its listing on the stock market from the AMEX to the NASDAQ. This change will give it more exposure to a bigger market of investors. In my humble opinion, I believe this company is gonna explode in the last half of 2006. I love that it only has about 5 million shares outstanding and that 41% of the stock is held by insiders. It also has a pretty clean balance sheet of only 8k in debt and revenues of 23 million and total cash of about 10 million. When it cleans up its diapers, it will be a wild teenager about to hit 20. Recent Price: $9.39 Target Price: $16.00

Place Your Bets

More and more of the youth today are getting into a "sport" called proffessional gambling. I don't agree with people who take this road in life but it has became so widespread throughout the western culture. For these reasons I am going to recommend a stock called UBET.com(UBET). I think that with this growing "sport" becoming so popular throughout America and other places around the world,Ubet will benefit. It has a very good balance sheet with only 700K in debt, total cash of about $16 million and revenue of $88 million in 2005. Watch this company double down and hit a "21" Current Price: $4.85 Price Target: $10

ENCY

ENCY is a company that I profiled way back when, and now its lead drug candidate, Thelin, was recently approved by the FDA, but it wanted more data shown. Wall St., in my humble opinion over reacted to the news and slashed the shares of ENCY by about 50%. I think this is going to be another ELN story where the stock was slashed alot, it went all the way to $3 and now its around $14. Even though it faces competition from Myogen,a company developing the same kind of drug, I believe this drug will be approved and it is worth picking up here at $4.29. Watch ENCY rebound from these low levels. It is a very speculative pick, only for those looking for huge risk-reward plays. Price target cut to $12.

The Year of the Bildil?

Could it be that this year is the turnaround year for Nitromed(NTMD)? With their drug called Bildil which they are getting absolutely hammered on in sales, can they make a push for profitability? Their drug Bildil reduces heart failure by 43% in African Americans. I think with the replacements of the CEO and CFO, they are pumping their blood in the right direction. With NTMD looking to cut costs as a new strategy, I think this new executive staff will get the job done. Let me say this one more time, this is the year of the Bildil. Watch out for new strategic alliances with bigger drugmakers, to cut costs according to the conference call made by NTMD on Wednesday. If all else fails, Someone will pay a premium for this company who has a great product and works well with a soft heart. Currently: $8.22 Price Target: $14

ACT on it!

Act on it now! A stock I recently discovered has a great balance sheet and a cool product is Actions Semiconductor. The company’s products include system-on-a-chips, which are integrated circuits designed to use for both flash memory-based and HDD-based personal media players*. The balance sheet is great and with this cool technology it has room to grow. With over $150 million in revenue and another $130 million in cash and relatively no debt of only $2.3 million this company is where it is at! It also has a P/E under 10! Symbol is ACTS. So you better act before its too late. *Company description and financials provided by Yahoo! Finance. Currently trading at $8.50 Price Target: $ 13.00

Citrus Squeeze?

Another company I want to talk to you about today that I know and love is Jamba Juice. Growing up in California, I went to Jamba Juice every so often, and I gotta tell you, their smoothies rock! They recently agreed to merge with a company called Servies Aquisition who bought them for $265 million. I believe this company knew what they were doing when they bought Jamba Juice, because after all they have a great product and alot of growth potential. According to Yahoo! Finance, Jamba Juice reported sales last year of $345 million at 532 store location worldwide. The thing that I love about this company's future is not only is products of Strawberry Wild or Citrus Squeeze, but that they are likely to start expanding and growing on the east coast. Watch out for a brain freeze from Jamba Juice. Current price: $10.72 Price Target: $15.00

Hot Dog!

Get your hot dogs! A product that I love and most everyone around the world has come to love is the Nathan Hot dog. People love Nathan's because it is a mouth watering and delicious hot dog treat. Personally I love this product and I think it has alot of Growth potential. Trading at only about 15 times earnings and a very good, clean balance sheet, I think this is a no-brainer of a choice. This is the kind of value play you look for in the market. Don't pass this chance up or you might regret not ordering this dog. Current price: $12.18 Target price: $22.00

Having Faith

Good morning to all! I know how important my blog is to all of you out there in blogspace, so I thought I'd type this one up, so you can print it out in between bites of your breakfast. You know I have always liked little biotech plays, so this might not be a surprise to you when I tell you I have found another one. The company is not only trading under $10, but it also is developing several stocks in clinical trials not only one! This comes to a shock to me that it is under $10 a share. It is up alot recently but I think there is still a ton of room to grow. This selection of diversafication of drugs in their pipeline is huge! This is why I'm going to add AVI Biopharma Inc. (AVII) to my stocks to watch. Hope to see you at $20 currently at: $7.25

Incredi-Mail?

I was doing some research on recent IPO's and I stumbled upon a company that sounds awesome. They have a few parts to their business, a part that sells products that personalize emails in the way you want, a part that helps put together e-cards, and a part that gets rid of all your junk mail, and various other cool features. This company is called IncrediMail, Ltd. They are based in Tel Aviv, Israel where a lot of cool technology companies are based. They have relatively no debt and have revenues of over seven million dollars. Earnings per share also looks pretty good, earning about $0.19 cents per share. I believe this company has room to grow and I'm going to pick this company as my pick of the week. Current Price: $7.89 Price Target: $12.00

Late Night Movies?

Growing up as a little kid nothing got me more excited then going to Blockbuster with my Dad. This company was the dominant player in its field until the likes of Netflix and new technology showed up to the party. But I believe there could be a turn around here. I believe Blockbuster(BBI) can and will make drastic changes to once again become the dominant player in this industry. They have already started to make changes with its new online rental strategy, giving subscribers to the online store, one free in-store rental per week. This strategy is great because it will generate more traffic towards it stores and BBI might see a pickup in revenue. I believe this company is far from giving up and I think it should and will make a turnaround with the help of the management. Current Price: $3.98 Price Target: $7.50

Is it too Late?

They say that you only have one opportunity in life and when it comes around you have to seize the moment. But you'll ask me, How can I seize this opportunity, when it seems the stock has already shot through the roof? Since I have been following this stock I have seen it at $9,$11,$13, but yet I was always skeptical, and I never seized this opportunity. But then again, I seem to say to myself, now its the right time and its gonna fly. This stock I am speaking with high expectations is called aQuantive Inc.(AQNT) and I believe the best has yet to come. According to Yahoo Finance, aQuantive, Inc. operates as a digital marketing services and technology company in the United States. The company operates in three segments: Digital Marketing Services, Digital Marketing Technologies, and Digital Performance Media. This nine-year-old company is just starting to see its hard work come to fruition. Living through the dot-com era it has risen from life support of the worst of times to be breathing on their own in the best of times. According to analysts, it is now trading at around 40 times its 2006 earnings estimates of .60 per share. I believe this stock will grow and continue to have solid long term growth. This company is here to stay with the big dogs. It is now time to seize this golden opportunity. Price target: $46 Currently: $25.39

Up Next!

Hey everyone! Hope everyone had a great holiday season. Now, down to business. I was researching through stocks that I long ago had owned, and this company called Next Inc., resurfaced. This company develops, markets and distributes imprinted sportswear and promotional products through major college and university licensing agreements. They have had continued growth in this industry by expanding their business model and by aquisitions. I think this company has the right idea with recent reports of a 24% increase in net sales for fiscal year 2005 compared to fiscal year 2004. By cutting cost and increasing productivity in some areas I believe this company is making the right turnaround and could be a major player in the coming year in small, penny stocks. According to the recently appointed CEO Robert Budd, " I am committed to building bottom line profits, which in turn should build shareholder value.", I believe in this company and I think that he and his board of directors will aggressively rebuild this company to where they want it to be. Which in turn should generate a higher revenue stream and higher profits. Price Target $1.85 Current Price: $0.70

Exciting ENCY!

Encysive Pharma, (ENCY) whose stock price has just depreciated by 39%, might be the right stock to buy. Its stock went down because its competitor for the same type of drug just came out with their phase 3 results, and it met all its primary endpoints. However, I don't really think this will take any profits away from ENCY's bottom line. I still believe that the company has done a tremendous effort with their drug, Thelin and will continue to have success. I also believe that because this company already has a drug that has been approved by the FDA it will use the profits from that drug to offset any R&D expenses for other drugs in the future. Thelin is in phase 3 clinical trials and it is used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension. I believe in this company and I hope to see the stock soar from these levels of $8.05 Price Target: $18

For All The Noodles in China

Would you give up your house, car, kids for all the tea in China? I didn't think so. Anyways, I found a really cool company and I own the stock. They sell instant noodles and it also mills and distributes flour for breads, and you know that sort of thing. Anyways, the stock will double in price or maybe even triple and here are the facts. Income from operations were up 58% in the third quarter and net income was up just roughly over 35%. It takes no genius to recognize that this company is strong and growing. With a continuing good balance sheet and expansion of its company through aquisitions and the global markets I don't see why this company should not be trading at higher prices. Thats all the time I have for today but mark my words this company will payoff huge for those who listen. Stock price: $1.65 Target Price : $5.00

Home Sweet Home

I have been out of the country for a while but I am home sweet home. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, the next stock that I am bringing up to the table and having it as my next pick is a company that deals with the radio, satellite radio that is. It is the smaller of the two satellite radio services, but it has alot of growth and attraction. Sirius is the better play here of the two companies. I believe that Siri with the addition of huge radio star Howard Stern will aquire alot more subscribers in the coming fourth quarter in the anticipation of the Howard Stern broadcast. The company's revenue has more than tripled from a year earlier to $66.8 million and it expects tons of growth coming in for the coming quarters. It has 2.2 million subscribers and I expect those numbers to continue to rise. I think this company has a shot at actually adding some points on the board for its stock. My Call on the stock: $12 price target, from its current levels of $6.52

OOO-LA-LA CAFFEINE

What else can I say about a company whose revenues exceed SIX billion dollars yearly and quarterly revenue growth of 21 percent. The company has over 300 Million in cash and only THREE Million in debt. The company’s products are in high demand, although there is fierce competition brewing. This company makes the best tasting coffee drinks and beverages in the world, Yes! you guessed it, STARBUCKS. Starbucks is a great company, they are now expanding in Japan and Asia which would tap a huge market. Personally, I happen to go there because I think it makes a much better product than The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf and other smaller coffee emporiums such as PEETS. Anyway, back to the more important stuff, Starbucks should generate much more revenue from its expansion into Japan and the rest of Asia. The company is tackling a part of the world that has lived on drinking teas for thousands of years, but this marketing strategy is brilliant and successful. Hopefully, with new, innovative and tasty beverages and products on the horizon, Starbucks will continue to be THE leader in the coffee and beverage department as it continues to expand in the global markets.

GNTA, STEM, ELN

Genta, StemCells Inc., and of course Elan, what is there to say about these three companies. Well on the one hand Genta has cost shareholders millions of dollars over the years, which is also true for Elan. Genta had a promising drug a couple years back called Genasense which was up for regulatory approval and was rejected and the stock went from around $18 to now $1.59. Then we have STEM, or StemCells Inc., they are just a speculative Stemcell company with lots of promise and no revenue and they run out of cash quickly...anyways I speculated on this stock and it made me alot of money during election time when this topic was hot. Then we have Elan. Elan is a good company with one drug behind it and if it doesnt get approved with this re-filing then it will suffer dearly...anyways I gotta run, but I am also gonna throw in IMCL ...They filed for regulatory approval of Erbitux for head and neck cancers which could generate millions more. prices now.... GNTA $1.59 price target $5.50..... STEM $5.53 price target $11...ELN $8.49 price target $22 pending on approval...hopefully.... and IMCL $29.80...price target....$45

Brav-NO! for BRAVO FOODS

I was doing some research on this company, Bravo Foods and I realized one thing...okay, sure they have some really good licensing deals with Marvel, and good distributing deals with major retailers, but I just went to the store and bought one of their milk shakes and I have to say it was the single, most disgusting thing I think I have ever tasted. Plus, I just got off the phone with the CEO of the company, Mr. Roy G. Warren, and he was extremely rude to me. Who does he think he is? He hung up on me because I asked him, "As the CEO of Bravo Foods, Do you taste every single product that you market and distribute?" And he replied, "Are You implying that you dislike our product?" and I said "I have siblings and they have some mixed feelings." To which he responded, "Do you think I would market a product that I personally did not like?" AND HE HUNG UP ON ME!!!!!!! HOW RUDE! I was just asking a simple question! IS THAT THE WAY TO HANDLE THE SITUATION MR. WARREN?!!?!?!?! WOULD YOUR SHAREHOLDERS APPRECIATE THE WAY YOU RESPOND TO QUESTIONS YOU DISLIKE? YOU SHOULD READ THE SARBANES-OXLEY ACT OF 2002.

CNVT

Hello Everyone, sorry for the leave of absence in the past few weeks, it was due to finals in school and I'm packing for "college." I have found an interesting company which has grown tremendously in the past several months but, it has yet to appear in their stock price. The symbol for this company is CNVT. They are a holding company for start up and under-developed companies. They usually deal with companies in the enviormental sector. One of their holding companies, BIOREM has done significantly well, driving the profits of CNVT through the roof. For the 6 months ended 2005 The company reported profits of $223,700 compared with a loss of ($435,900) for the 6 months ended 2004. That is due to selling some of its holding in BIOREM. They sold it because the BIOREM had increased tremendously, they wanted to take some of the profits. Look for CNVT to make strategic plays in the coming months and project itself for further growth and profitability. Cnvt currently $0.18. My target price is $0.45

Thirsty for Cash?

I have one question that I need to ask everyone...Are you thirsty for cash? I don't know about you but I am certainly thirsty and I need to be quenched of this thirst. And what better way to do that, is by opening the fridge and taking a gulp of a Jones Soda. I have been watching this stock since it has been an infant at around $1.50 about 2 years ago. But, once I saw it profiled in Businessweek magazine at about $7 a share, I promised myself I wouldn't profile it on my blog for stock picking. But, since its appearance in the magazine the stock has declined over 30% and no disrespect to Mr. Marcial, but how could he not forsee the pullback of this stock. What I have learned over these few years of investing, is that when a speculative stock such as Jones Soda(JSDA) which is traded on the OTC BB(bulletin-board) goes up that much in a short period of time, the stock is due for a pullback. Since it has come down this much the stock looks very attractive at these levels and I couldn't help myself by profiling them. I believe that the stock should be trading on the Nasdaq and should transfer over to it soon. It has to trade above $4 a share for 90 days to do so. Given its small SO(Shares Outstanding) and the growth it has had, the stock should jump up in price. Although, it has been spending alot of time and money marketing its brand and drink, to try and position itself nicely for the coming years. The upside growth of the company and the stock has alot of potential and it should go higher from these levels of $4.73

Double Trouble

Since I did not give you a stock pick yesterday, I am making Mad Catz Interactive, Inc (MCZ), my double-trouble pick of the week. This is one of my small-cap favorites. They have a very interesting business, they make and distribute video game accessories. For example, they design memory sticks, light guns, steering wheels and much more. Although they make very cool accessories for many different video games they compete with the likes of Logitech, one of, if not, the biggest accessories maker in the world. But, even so, Mad Catz holds its own against them. In fact, I was in Best Buy this past Sunday shopping for a television and I'm a guy, so I made my way over to the video game section and to my surprise, there were Mad Catz accessories! It was really cool to see a product made by a small penny stock in a powerhouse store like Best Buy. They have continued to post record financial results, as this penny stock becomes a big brand name. I believe that within a 6-month period the stock should hit $3. It is currently trading a $1.05. I would initiate coverage on this company if I was an analyst.

Pump up the Volume

Pump up the volume with SLS International. You know what? alot of people thought that this company was gonna go bust. But, on the other hand, this company is blowing their competition away. SLS Audio is the premier manufacturer and distributor of loudspeakers in the United States. Early in the company's history, they rented, sold and installed sound and lighting systems. In 1999 the company began focusing on the manufacturing of loudspeaker systems, selling to dealers and contractors on a wholesale basis. They have their loudspeaker systems in places such as Brooklyn's famous Prospect Park twelve-thousand seat outdoor amphitheater, Trump Grande Ocean Resort & Residences, Branson Mall Theater and Universal Studios Hollywood. Since they changed their business model the stock price has appreciated over 200% in the last two years. I still see growth in this company and believe it will blast their way to the top. At these levels of $2.06 I think the company will be able to at least double in stock price. With record sales and backlog orders of over $500,000 the company is in strong position to do well in the latter half of 2005. They reported second quarter revenues of $887,155, the highest in the company's history and a 75.6% increase from the same period in 2004. Also, the 6-month period ended June 30,2005, the Company believes it will report revenue of $1,756,724, an increase of 89.7% versus that period of fiscal 2004 according to Yahoo! Finance. The Company just completed a state of the art facility in Missouri, which will allow them to produce much more orders and inventory. This facility will allow them to operate at a much faster pace and improve their operating margins.

Heating Things Up

I stumbled upon an article this week in Business magazine about a company called TurboChef. The company seems great to me for a number of reasons, first and foremost, they have their high speed ovens in 20,000 Subway Restaurants. Another plus, is that they are currently testing their ovens in 100 Starbuck stores in North America for daily use. According to the article there was positive feedback so far from the tests. They recently signed a deal with the Compass group, the worlds largest food service company, to use their ovens in over 1,400 locations in the North American region. Another great thing about this company that I truly love is the fact that they have no debt, Did you hear that? NO DEBT! This company is in position to cook at a fast pace and should fry the competition. It should scorch from the levels it is at now of $18.50. Price target: $37

Gentlemen, Start Your Engines!

Gentlemen, Start Your Engines! I found this company that I happen to like and I have been following it for a few days now ... and it has shot up about 10 % since I have been watchingit. It is called Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide, Inc. and it is a hot stock. It has two sides to their business, on one side is alternative fuel vehicles and fuel cell applications. The other side is their high-performance vehicles. For their alternative fuel vehicles, they do business with GM, Daimler-Chrysler and with their high-performance vehicles they only deal with GM or special projects from a professional race cardriver. This company was a spin off of a company called IMPCO. Since then, they have had an alliance with GM and have done special projects(approximately 4 million annually) for them and in return they can access GM proprietary information. Also GM owns about 20% of the company's stock. I believe that with the alliance with a powerhouse like GM, this company is positioned to come out on top in the search of alternative fuel and to take the world to the next level in new energy resources, especially with oil prices going so high. I believe that the stock can go higher from its current levels of $4.55.

Yahoo!

Yahoo! is a great company with great revenue streams and has relatively no debt. It has a great brand name and the online advertising industry is not going away, it is only growing. According to Merrill Lynch, Yahoo!'s shareholders "over-reacted to last weeks tightened guidance," which I believe is accurate. Yahoo has a strong upside and great growth potential, and is positioned to do well in the coming year.

One by One-Teva Your up next, Swing for the Fences!

One-by-one, my stock pick(s) will begin to come to fruition. With my stock pick of Ebay up over 14% (after hours) since my selection of it, people should think to themselves...Hmm...Does this 18-year-old investor actually know what he is talking about? If, you still think I am not worthy of your money or time, here is my next stock pick of the week! Which stock could it possibly be? TEVA is the chosen one! This Israeli high-powered generic firm has annual revenue of over five-billion dollars. They also have developed a drug that is the leader in its field for MS called Copaxone. They have had sales in the second quarter of $291 million, up 29% a year ago. Besides for this, they currently are trying to develop a drug for Parkinson's disease and an oral treatment for MS. They also have a ton of generic drugs developed and sold in the U.S and have a strong pipeline of approximately 80 drugs that are set to be filed for FDA approval by 2007, according to an article read on Forbes.com, gearing them for the coming future. My price target is $41, from the current level of $30.97.

Let The Stock Picking Begin

I have already told you that the main purpose for me creating this blog was so that I could pick 1-3 stocks per week and track them over a 1 month, 3 month and 6 month period. So, now is the time that I shall start the stock picking! My first stock pick of the week is Ebay. One might question, why Ebay? Then one might say Ebay? That stock has been a bear for about almost a year now. Well, the reasons I like Ebay are as follows, one its brand name. When a company has a brand name like Kleenex or Tivo or Ebay, that means they are the dominant player in their field. Alright, so besides the brand name I expect earnings tomorrow to be in line with estimates, of 0.18 cents per share. Another major reason I like this stock is because it is growing and tapping into major foreign markets. Their stock is off about 40% since its high back in January of 05', which makes it more appealing to me and it has NO DEBT! Anyways, the stock can and should go higher from these levels of $35.36. My price target is 43.

Tired of Red

Im really sick and tired of these days of redness by the markets. The markets continue to underperform but, we did hear good news from IBM after the bell, so that was kind of encouraging for the markets to rally Tomorrow. IBM shares were up about 3 1/2 after hours. Anyways, moving along, a company I follow and own shares in called, ELAN Corporation, reported good data on their controversial drug treatment called Tysabri. I own shares on a speculative basis and hope their treatment of Tysabri for MS and Crohns will return back to the market by the end of this summer. Anyways, it's late and I'm really tired, I will update this when I get up tomorrow. :-)

Stock Market opens in 6 hours

Nothing really exciting this week, except I am looking forward to hearing about earnings from various different companies such as, IBM, Citigroup, Ford, GM, JNJ and of course Intel and Microsoft. But, we need them to give us good news if we have any hope of the markets rising this week. Investors might be on a selloff due to the anticipation of the Fed meeting coming up in about 3 weeks. KEY NOTES: GOOGLE reports on Thursday and expect EBAY to go higher this week after it reports earnings on Wednesday. Anyways its really late and i gotta be up early tommorow morning for the markets...but, this should be a fun week played mostly by earnings. I'll get my stock picks in before the end of the week, still doing some research on some companies...alrighty off to bed ...let the new week of investing begin!!!

Choppy Day in the Stock Market

Today is one of those days where 1. Its beautiful outside but, yet you don't step outside because you are trying to figure out what is wrong with the Stock Market. 2. There is no #2 Anyways, Choppy Markets...but at 12:15 we got a report out that said that June Industrial Production grew at its fastest rate in 16 months dating back to Feb 2004. So of course the markets jump up a few points, on that good Data. Also good news today...The EU, or the European Union antitrust regulators approved the Purchase of Gillette by Procter & Gamble. They are now the biggest consumer products company. And it is the LARGEST aquisition in P&G 167 year old history...Now almost everthing you find in your house will be from P&G ...from the duracell battery, or the shavers and o yea! lets not forget TIDE or Crest Toothpaste ....anyways, as we come to a close of the market on this Friday...Remember one thing GOOGLE better report fantastic numbers or else its stock will be beaten down...and beaten down hard!
